Brother’s Nasheed Submissions

The Honor of Humility: Finding Dignity in Challenging Pride

JUDGES FEEDBACK:

JUDGE 1: “like how this team had such a unique identity and approach to their song, crowd was really involved with clapping, very complete, emotional performance, harmonizing was beautiful. However, they didn't use their strongest singer as well as they possibly could've and some transitions were a bit abrupt”

JUDGE 2: “Great memorable performance. I loved the blend of low voices and high voices especially during the pre-choruses. Fluidity in music is one of the most integral parts of this nasheed. The vocal training of one of the members was unexpected and highlighted the complexity of the group. Every member brought something different to the nasheed and the application to the theme was apparent particularly in the pre-chorus two and bridge. Linear, simple structure added to replayability of the nasheed.”

The Honor of Humility: Finding Dignity in Challenging Pride

JUDGES FEEDBACK:

JUDGE 1: “crowd very involved, very dynamic, a BOP from start to end, I loved it a lot. their lyrics were really substantive and they did a great job applying the theme. Though it was dynamic, it never felt messy and they had a very linear performance.”

JUDGE 2: “Very memorable performance. The chorus was powerful and the application to the theme was clear and innovative. The rap incorporated current events which was not very original, but in light of the recent shooting in New Zealand, commanded the attention the bridge/rap deserves. Well structured chorus and dynamic lyrics were present throughout the performance. Stage presence was lacking with regard to team members using their surroundings and engaging the audience. The percussion step into the chorus at the beginning of the nasheed was creative and brought a new innovation into nasheed that may be explored more in future years. Perhaps the team can incorporate step percussion into more of their lyrics such as the rap.”

The Valor of Mercy: Summoning The Strength of Compassion

JUDGES FEEDBACK:

JUDGE 1: “Loved performance, kept us engaged, vocalization was on point, transition into pre-chorus could've been better. The message was clear and unique compared to the other performers”

JUDGE 2: “Stage presence was great. Performers were in sync. Momentarily fell off beat in transition into pre-chorus. Even without a mic, able to project their voices. Got the crowd involved. Melodic and harmonic. Incorporated theme well.”

JUDGE 3: “Very good transition from singer to singer. Background vocalization was phenomenal, particularly the subtle parallel singing. Great lyrics and application of theme. Could improve in transition to pre-chorus (singer seemed slightly out of place).”
